Origin
How I Came to This Work
I came to this work through my own body's insistence and through a lifetime of moving through the world in a body that systems were not built for. As a Black, queer, transgender man, I learned early that healing is not neutral. The body holds not only personal history, but ancestral memory, collective wounds, and the residue of systems that have sought to disconnect us from our bodies, our pleasure, and our power.
My path has moved through liberation psychology, somatic sexology, psychedelic medicine, and ancestral energy work, each becoming part of a larger devotion to embodied and collective liberation. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and have been a psychologist in private practice since 2010. For nearly 20 years I have accompanied people through healing, transformation, and becoming.
Over time, my own journey called me beyond what could be reached through words alone and more deeply into the wisdom of the body, altered states, energy, touch, ritual, and Eros. That calling led me into psychedelic medicine, into the study of Sexological Bodywork and Sex Doula work at the Amina Institute, and into Kemetic Energy Medicine and other ancestral approaches to working with life force.
It also gave birth to Liberation Reiki, my own evolving practice of energy work rooted in the understanding that our energetic bodies are shaped by culture, history, identity, and power, and that tending to them can be part of our liberation.
My work has also carried me into teaching and mentorship. I am deeply invested in cultivating spaces where embodiment, identity, power, liberation, and the sacred are not treated as peripheral to healing, but as essential to it. That commitment has led me to teach and present in conferences and training programs on liberation-centered approaches to psychedelic facilitation and the creation of affirming, culturally responsive care for queer, trans, and BIPOC communities. Most recently, I presented Psychedelics for Black Trans Liberation at the WPATH World Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. I now bring these threads together in my role as Training Director of the Psychedelic Facilitation Training Program at Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts.
My relationship with the body has also been deeply shaped by yoga, ritual, and sacred movement, with roots in the African-centered tradition of Kemetic Yoga and continued exploration through Hatha, Yin, Tantra, Kundalini, and primal and intuitive movement practices. I have learned to approach the body as sacred ground. These traditions have taught me that embodiment itself can be an act of devotion.
The body is not something to transcend. It is a divine vessel through which we encounter the sacred.
But credentials are only one part of what I bring into the room.
I bring a deep reverence for the intelligence of the body. I believe pleasure can be a site of knowing, Eros a source of vitality, and consensual touch a pathway into deeper relationship with ourselves. I believe our bodies can teach us what we desire, where our boundaries live, what safety feels like, and what becomes possible when we no longer have to abandon ourselves in order to belong.
My work is particularly devoted to those whose bodies, genders, sexualities, desires, and ways of loving have been marginalized, controlled, pathologized, or told they were too much. I am interested not only in helping people heal what has hurt, but in helping them discover what becomes possible beyond survival.
To the body as sacred ground.
To pleasure as birthright.
To desire as embodied knowing.
To Eros as liberation.
I am not here to fix you. I am here to witness you fully and without flinching as you find your way back to yourself.
Philosophy
What I Believe
The body is the teacher.
Sensation, breath, and nervous system response are the language of the body. We don't override them in pursuit of an outcome. We listen, honor what emerges, and let the body lead.
Consent is a practice, not a checkbox.
Consent is a living practice woven through every session. We listen for it, communicate it, and revisit it moment by moment. Ongoing, specific, and mutual, consent is the foundation of everything we do.
Liberation is collective.
Erotic sovereignty does not exist in isolation. Our relationships with our bodies, pleasure, and desire are shaped by the systems and cultures we move through. I center BIPOC and LGBTQ+ bodies because our liberation is interconnected and because reclaiming pleasure, desire, and bodily autonomy can itself be an act of resistance.
Slowness is sacred.
We are taught to rush toward climax, to seek the outcome, the breakthrough, the release. This work invites us to slow down. To stay with sensation. To notice what becomes available when we stop reaching for an outcome and allow embodiment itself to become the practice.
Training & Lineage
Somatic Sexology
Somatic sexology is the practice of working directly with the body through sensation, breath, nervous system awareness, and intentional touch as a pathway to erotic healing and wholeness. My formation in this lineage includes training as a Sexological Bodywork practitioner, Erosomatic Touch practitioner, and certification as a Sex Doula through the Amina Institute. This work sits at the center of everything I do: the belief that the erotic body is not a problem to be managed, but an intelligence to be listened to.
Ancestral Wisdom & Energy Medicine
My ancestral and energetic foundations are deeply rooted in Kemetic traditions and African-centered ways of understanding the relationship between body, spirit, energy, and ancestry. As a Kemetic Energy Medicine practitioner, Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master, and founder of Liberation Reiki, I approach energy work through a liberation-centered lens that recognizes the energetic body as inseparable from culture, history, identity, and systems of power. My relationship with the body has also been shaped by yoga, ritual, and sacred movement, with roots in Kemetic Yoga and continued exploration through Hatha and Yin Yoga, Tantra, Kundalini, and primal and intuitive movement. Together, these traditions have taught me to approach the body as sacred ground and embodiment as a devotional practice, listening through breath, movement, energy, sensation, and stillness for the wisdom the body and our ancestral lineages carry.
Liberation-Centered Psychology
My foundation in psychology has shaped how I understand healing, relationship, identity, and the many ways we learn to survive and become ourselves. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University and a Master's degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and I have been a licensed psychologist in private practice since 2010. From the beginning, my work has been grounded in a liberation-centered, multidimensional feminist lens that understands healing as more than adapting to the world as it is. I see it as a process of remembering who we are beneath what we have been taught to carry, reclaiming the parts of ourselves we have been asked to abandon, and returning more fully to our own wholeness.
Psychedelic Medicine
I am a licensed psilocybin facilitator in both Oregon and Colorado, and my training includes MDMA-assisted psychotherapy training through MAPS, an OHA-approved certificate in Psilocybin Facilitation from Alma Institute, and a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies from Naropa University. I currently serve as Training Director of the Psychedelic Facilitation Training Program at Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts. I understand psychedelic medicine as one of many pathways for healing intergenerational wounds and returning to sovereignty.
